My son. The inspiration behind this project.

“LISTEN WITH YOUR EYES” is the title for a photographic project conceptualized and photographed by me..

The portrait project features a series of images that depict people from all walks of life that have been affected in some way by Mental Illness & Suicide.

The images are meant to achieve several goals. On a broad level, the photos show a multitude of emotions as the subjects were being photographed while sharing their personal stories of struggle, heartache, hope, and fortitude.

In this way, the project seeks to show that the effects of Mental Illness & Suicide do not discriminate and no one is immune to it.

Perhaps the project’s most important goal is the hope that this will help destigmatize the topic of Mental Illness & Suicide and help open up the much-needed conversation about something that is so difficult and misunderstood.
