My work comes from a deep understanding of how endearing life, just as it is, can be, & how important it is for me as an artist to document it in a simple, but strategic way. It is why I take on two approaches to all of my sessions, no matter if it's a family session or an elaborate event. You can expect to see me hang back quietly photographing moments as they unfold in front of me. And, in the next moment, you'll notice me offering simple direction to maximize a unique space, moment, and/or lighting. My approach is documentary & lifestyle. My most favourite subjects to photograph are my growing grandchildren. Besides being behind the camera, you can catch me breaking out in a random dance with my grandchildren, playing with dolls in the treehouse, singing nursery rhymes, and teaching them to color outside of the lines.

MY STYLE & APPROACH

I’m a natural observer, a deep feeler who is drawn to human connection, the way light moves, and simple, genuine moments. I love being a lifestyle portrait photographer because it perfectly combines my interest in people, storytelling and art.

My intention is to tell the true story of your day as naturally as possible with a documentary style that is relaxed and real ... never forced or scripted. The people I work with often tell me I’m a calming presence and they were incredibly comfortable being photographed.

I'm always looking for those in-between moments - the subtle glances and fleeting touches - that could easily go unnoticed. I like vulnerability, heart, grit, and soul, and I’ll look for what’s interesting rather than what’s perfect.

Instead of posing for the camera I want to capture you. The you where you feel like yourself. Your kids smiling without being told to do so. Your partners wrinkles that he or she got from the years of laughing together with you. The hands that make you feel safe.
